What It’s Like to Photograph at the Front Lines of the War in Afghanistan

Want to see what it’s like to work as a conflict photojournalist at the front lines of a war? Here’s an 8.5-minute point-of-view video showing two photographers covering a battle in which Afghan soldiers close in on Taliban positions.

Josh Smith, a correspondent and photojournalist with Stars and Stripes, recorded the video during the battle for the city of Kunduz in October 2015. He can be seen covering the action with both a DSLR and a smartphone. You can read more about the battle over at Stars and Stripes.
