Fujifilm today announced the new Instax Mini 70, a sleek instant camera that features a new selfie mode and a high-performance flash for snapshots in low-light situations.
When shooting in dark places, the camera can automatically calculate surrounding brightness and adjust its shutter speeds accordingly when the flash is fired.
Next to the lens of the camera is a small new front-facing mirror that helps users frame themselves for selfie shots. The camera’s “smart selfie” mode also automatically adjusts camera settings for optimized portraits.
Other features of the camera include an improved viewfinder, automatic exposure, automatic flash, a high-key mode for brighter shots, and a tripod mount.
The Instax Mini 70 uses standard Instax Mini film that creates 2×3-inch prints at ISO 800. The camera will be available in November 2015 in Canary Yellow, Moon White, and Island Blue with a price tag of $140. Instax Mini film costs $20 for a double pack of 20 shots.
