During the Oscars this weekend, the website hosting service Squarespace will be airing a new commercial featuring photographer David Guttenfelder. Above is the extended 60-second version of the 30-second ad that will air on Sunday. “Why do I do what I do? So everyone can see what I’ve seen,” the photographer says.
The ad tells Guttenfelder’s life story and was directed by Noam Murro, the director of the Hollywood film 300: Rise of an Empire. Guttenfelder has won a World Press Photo award 7 times, the same number of times he has been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. You can find a collection of Guttenfelder’s best photos on his website.
