A New York-based photographer and Instagram star was killed yesterday after apparently trying to subway surf by climbing onto a train car in Brooklyn.
The New York Post reports that 25-year-old Christopher Serrano was riding an F train in Brooklyn with a female friend at around 5 a.m. yesterday when he went between two of the subway cars and began climbing the outside of the train.
Serrano, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time, seems to have gotten clipped by something and fell off the train. His body was found in the subway roadbed at the Fourth Ave./Ninth St. station at around 5:12 a.m.
Prior to his death, Serrano regularly published urban exploration photos to his Instagram account, @heavy_minds, which had over 100,000 followers. Many of his photos were captured from extremely high and dangerous vantage points, often in locations off-limits to the general public.
