Back in 2014, San Diego-based startup Lume Cube unveiled its eponymous cube LED light that can output 1,500 lumens while small enough to fit in your pocket. Now the company is launching its next product, a followup light called the Life Lite.
The Life Lite is a tiny light cube for people who want to add lighting to their lifestyle photos on the go. It’s basically a Lume Cube that’s shrunk down in size (about half the size at 1×1.5-inch), weight (~2 oz), and price.
Life Lite is flexible, outputting between 0 and 1,000 lumens of “studio quality light.” You can connect to Life Lites via Bluetooth and control multiple units using a single device.
Other features and specs include waterproofing down to 10 meters (30 feet), multiple levels of strobe mode for creative lighting effects, a color temperature of 5600K, a physical multifunction button, a custom fresnel lens, a micro USB charging port, an internet magnet mount, and a tripod mount.
Lume Cube launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the Life Lite today. A contribution of $39 will get you a Life Lite if/when it starts shipping in March 2017. By comparison, the Lume Cube had a crowdfunding “price tag” of $59 when it was announced.
