12 Photographers Shot Portraits in the Same Room, and This is What Resulted

A group of 12 photographers gathered in a beautiful villa in Tuscany, Italy, last year to be creative, learn from one another, and exchange ideas. On the last day, they decided to challenge themselves with an experiment: they would each spend 15 minutes shooting a portrait of a model using the same room as the setting.

The idea was by the flower stylists and set designers of FluidaDesign, who set up a large flower arrangement in the most beautiful room of the villa.

Each photographer could choose between 3 models (or another photographer) and 3 dresses, and the 15 minutes began as soon as the 2 people entered the room.

“Some of them used the sophisticated dress, someone the delicate one, someone choose nudity, some of them made the subject enter into the composition, other used just a petal,” says flower designer Alessandra Santini. “The idea was exactly to provide evidence of the different tales that each eye can tell, and enjoy the absolute beauty of it all.”

“It was a lot of pressure, but also incredibly fun,” she says. “And the results speak for themselves.”

Here are the 12 portraits that resulted (note: there’s a bit of nudity):

“I think it’s nice to see how different the styles of each photographer are, in spite of the same settings,” Santini says.
