What would Salvador Dali eat for brunch? Designer Kyle Bean recently teamed up with photographer Aaron Tilley and food stylist Lucy-Ruth Hathaway to answer this very question by recreating the works of Dali and other artists using various brunch ingredients.
The fun series, titled Artisan Brunch, was created for and published in issue 24 of Kinfolk Magazine.
The series includes fried eggs imitating of Dali’s melting clocks; pancakes and their toppings as an Alexander Calder mobile; bread with ketchup polka-dots imitating Yayoi Kasama; half an avocado suspended in formaldehyde like Damien Hirst’s shark; and an assortment of brunch foods hanging from strings in the style of Cornelia Parker. Creative and fun, couldn’t ask for more:
If you liked the series, check out a previous collaboration between Tilley and Bean that we featured here on PetaPixel: a series of photos designed to make you feel anxious.
