“Zooms? We don’t need no stinkin’ zooms!” said a gaggle of ZEISS shooters. At least that’s what we imagine ZEISS-lovers saying as they look at the comparison shot above by photographer and ZEISS lens ambassador Christian Dandyk.
In a single image, he compares the field of view of every ZEISS Loxia and ZEISS Batis lens—from the brand new Batis 18mm f/2.8, to the Loxia 35mm f/2, to the Batis 85mm f/1.8 and all the others in between. The image also includes the lenses themselves, which may help you decide which is best for you: do you really need the Batis 18mm, or will the more compact Loxia 21mm suit your style of shooting better?
Or maybe you’ll just opt to cover the whole spectrum (“I don’t need no stinkin’ zoom lens!” you shout defiantly). But be forewarned: we did the math, and all 6 lenses will cost you a whopping $7,750 altogether.
